Course Description Exploration of synthesis across the notion of "utility" as represented in environmental/natural resource economics, as well as the notion of "ecology" in ecological economics. Focus will be on the influence the community and ecosystem have on one another, and the potential for complimentarity between the two. The course approaches economy and community by looking at the inherent interdependence, jointness, and potential complimentarity as between the ecology and economy (utility) of a place.
