Course Description The goal of this course is to survey crop seed production techniques and issues, connecting technical agronomic practices with the tradeoffs associated with business planning and grower development. Factors like plant development, soil fertility, weed control, and insect control will be evaluated to ensure reliable supply of quality seed. Values associated with the timely supply of quality seed, considering physiological, purity, and certification factors, will be evaluated in the context of effective business management. Although focused on the production of large agricultural seeds, differences in production strategies will be evaluated among a variety of crop types.
