Course Description Whether you're new to gardening or an experienced gardener, get your garden to be productive. Get step-by-step instructions, helpful hints, and design ideas to help throughout the growing season, from planning to harvest. Study potential problems in vegetable production including pests, diseases, weeds, and environmental disorders and learn to manage them. Examine specific cultural practices for selected vegetable varieties and in-depth fact sheets. Learn the basics of growing vegetables in containers - which varieties work well, what soil to use, and fertilizer requirements. Learn harvesting techniques and how to best store various vegetables. (This course was previously offered in a more comprehensive version as Hort 493D.)
